- Advanced to Semi-Finals of the 2013 McKnight Artist Fellowships

February

- Performance with Isles Ensemble at Lake of the Isles Church in Minneapolis on Sunday, February 10th at 2 pm.  Works by Mozart and Villa-Lobos.

- Invited to perform Daniel Kellogg's Into Utter Forever (2006) at the 41st National Flute Association Convention in New Orleans on August 10th, 2013.

2012

September

- Fundraiser Flute Concert, September 12th at St. Olaf College 7-8 pm.  Kick-off event for a fundraising campaign to upgrade instruments.  THANK YOU to all the Sponsors who contributed so generously!

Colleague Martin Hodel, Director of the St. Olaf Philharmonia, offered these comments after the September 12th Kick-off Fundraiser Concert:

"Catherine Ramirez is one of the most exciting musicians on the St. Olaf faculty.  Her gorgeous and expressive sound, her perfect intonation, her masterful phrasing, and her astonishing technique make her playing a joy to hear.  Her recital on Wednesday showed all of those characteristics, coupled with a sensitive ensemble awareness.  Congratulations on a spectacular concert!"

- Showcased at the National Flute Association Convention in Las Vegas, performing Henri Dutilleux's Sonatine with pianist Timothy Hester, and in a duo with flutist Leone Buyse, performing John Cage's  Three Pieces for Flute Duet as part of the Americal Classical Music Hall of Fame concert

July 

- Winner of two Third Prizes at the Città di Padova International Music Competitions in Italy (the only American to be awarded)

- Voted Vice President Elect to Upper Midwest Flute Association (UMFA) Board     

June 

Completed a successful five-city tour of China as soloist with conductor Steven Amundson and the St. Olaf Orchestra, performing works by Georges Hüe and Christopher Rouse.  Performances took place in Shanghai, Hangzhou, Xi'an, Zhengzhou and Beijing.

Participated in graduation ceremonies, receiving the Doctor of Musical Arts degree from Rice University's Shepherd School of Music

- Unanimously voted to the Minnesota Orchestra flute substitute list
